WebLabelSM FAQs

FAQs:

  • 1. How do I set up browser print settings?

If you are using a laser or inkjet printer with 8½" x 11" paper, you do not need to set the page margins.

If you are using a label printer, follow these steps to set the browser page setup options correctly:

Select the “Page Setup” option from the “File” menu.

Click the “Printer” button in the lower right-hand corner. (IE only)

    Select the printer to use.

Click the “Properties” button next to the printer name.

Select or set the paper size to the size of the label.

Click the “Ok” button on the Properties window and the Select Printer window.

Set the margins to 0 or the lowest setting the margin will go.

    Click the “Ok” button.

    2. Why are my label images not displaying?

If the label image is not displaying, please make sure your browser supports PNG (Portable Network Graphics) files.

    3. Why do I periodically get logged out??

    Advanced Options:

    1. WebLabel Database

Create your own WebLabel database. This option will save you time when entering data. Instead of typing in each record, save the record in the WebLabel database. Just select the “Print Label” link and the data is already entered.

For more information on how to get your own WebLabel database, please contact ustoday.

    2. Printer Types

Inkjet Printers – Due to inconsistent barcode quality caused by bleeding and the print mechanism, these printers are not recommended for label printing.

Laser Printers – This class of printers can print quality labels. However, except for extremely small quantities, the label stock is more expensive than using thermal transfer label printers.

Direct Thermal Printers – This printer prints on heat sensitive label stock. The advantage is the label printer does not require a ribbon or toner. However, after a few weeks or months the barcode and text information on the label will fade, especially if in direct sunlight, and may become unreadable.

Thermal Transfer Printers – This printer is used for most professional labels. A ribbon supplies high quality ink and is thermally transferred to the label stock. This is very high quality and easily provides printing for one label or hundreds of labels. Under normal conditions, these labels last indefinitely.
